Why can two sales totals be different?
One system may include tax or delivery while another excludes them. Refund timing, date ranges and order status can also change a total. Before combining figures, agree which question the number is meant to answer and what is included. A dashboard cannot fix unclear definitions by displaying them more neatly.

Will the numbers update in real time?
Refresh frequency depends on the source and the agreed setup. It is specified before the dashboard is built. We do not describe delayed data as real time.
Can a dashboard explain why my sales figures disagree?
It can make definitions and differences clearer, but reconciliation may require checking source data, refunds, tax, dates and order status. Data clean-up or reconciliation is scoped separately from simply displaying figures.
Is this useful for a very small business?
It is most useful when checking several systems creates repeated work or confusion. If one existing report already answers your questions, another dashboard may add little value.
